Assessment Skills - Spring 2022

Summary

Rory is still at the beginner stage. He has the basic motion for an ollie and needs to practice it how he’s already doing it over and over. Rory has good balance and overall good control of the board, but his biggest weakness is foot placement. He does know where his feet should be but often rushes and does not pay attention to this important detail. There is a sequence I will be teaching Rory listed under Next Steps. These put together will give him the ability to skate any part comfortably. Hes got some great hustle and with some fundamental training i’m confident I can show him how to have even more fun!

Next Steps

1.) Make a habit of proper foot placement (He knows where the foot placements are)

2.) Master Backside kickturns (He is doing well on this but still needs lots of practice

3.) Go down large ramp at East Dallas and Carpenter if able to make it out for a Plano class

4.) Drop-in alone on banks (Ramps) NOT quarter pipes yet

There is much more to this list, but this is the first half that we will be focusing on. Ill review this page with him each class

Goals

  1. Skate at home as often as you can (make it fun!)

  2. Hold a manual (2 wheels) for more than 3 seconds.

  3. 5 Ollies a day at 4 days a week!
